41 - The Gardener
Rabindranath Tagore

I long to speak the deepest words I have to say to you;
but I dare not, for fear you should laugh.
That is why I laugh at myself and shatter my secret in jest.
I make light of my pain, afraid you should do so.

I long to tell you the truest words I have to say to you;
but I dare not, being afraid that you would not believe them.
That is why I disguise them in untruth, saying the contrary of
what I mean.
I make my pain appear absurd, afraid that you should do so.

I long to use the most precious words I have for you;
but I dare not, fearing I should not be paid with like value.
That is why I gave you hard names and boast
of my callous strength.
I hurt you, for fear you should never know any pain.

I long to sit silent by you; but I dare not lest my heart come
out at my lips.
That is why I prattle and chatter lightly and hide my heart
behind words.
I rudely handle my pain, for fear you should do so.

I long to go away from your side; but I dare not, for fear my
cowardice should become known to you.
That is why I hold my head high and carelessly
come into your presence.
Constant thrusts from your eyes keep my pain fresh for ever.

40 - The Gardener
Rabindranath Tagore

An unbelieving smile flits on your eyes when I come to you to
take my leave.
I have done it so often that you think I will soon return.
To tell you the truth I have the same doubt in my mind.

For the spring days come again time after time; the full moon
takes leave and comes on another visit, the flowers come again
and blush upon their branches year after year, and it is likely
that I take my leave only to come to you again.
But keep the illusion awhile; do not send it away
with ungentle haste.

When I say I leave you for all time, accept it as true, and let
a mist of tears for one moment deepen
the dark rim of your eyes.
Then smile as archly as you like when I come again.

Unending Love
Rabindranath Tagore

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms,
numberless times…In life after life, in age
after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace
of songs, that you take as a gift, wear round your neck
in your many forms,In life after life, in age after age, forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it's age-old pain,
It's ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star piercing the darkness of time:
You become an image of what is remembered forever.

You and I have floated here on the stream that
brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers, shared in
the same shy sweetness of meeting, the same distressful
tears of farewell-Old love but in shapes that renew and
renew forever.

Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man’s days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours –
And the songs of every poet past and forever.

I Found A Few Old Letters
Rabindranath Tagore

I found a few old letters of mine carefully hidden in thy box
a few small toys for thy memory to play with. With a timorous
heart thou didst try to steal these trifles from the turbulent
stream of time which washes away planets and stars, and didst
say, “These are only mine!” Alas, there is no one now who can
claim them—who is able to pay their price; yet they are still
here. Is there no love in this world to rescue thee from utter
loss, even like this love of thine that saved these letters
with such fond care?

O woman, thou camest for a moment to my side and touched me
with the great mystery of the woman that there is in the heart
of creation—she who ever gives back to God his own outflow of
sweetness; who is the eternal love and beauty and youth; who
dances in bubbling streams and sings in the morning light;
who with heaving waves suckles the thirsty earth and whose
mercy melts in rain; in whom the eternal one breaks in two
in joy that can contain itself no more and overflows in
the pain of love.

Close To You lyrics by Kate Wolf

Close To You lyrics
Kate Wolf

I like the way you smile.
It reminds me of a happy child
It makes me feel a little less alone
I miss you when you're gone
The hours, they stretch on and on
Like water dripping slowly on a stone

You're such a mystery
The way you look at me
With that light that shines from some place I can't go
It could take you by surprise
When you realized
That you loved me though you've never told me so
You know I want to say so many things to you today
But you've got me feeling like I'm flying blind

I think if you were here,
The words would ring crystal clear
From this heart that learning how to speak its mind
You fight for truth with love
You're an iron hand in a velvet glove
It's the kind of strength that makes a gentle man
But I'm a child of the wind
I've been blown away, but I'm back again
I just don't know if you really understand

Sunlight moves across the floor
There's a soft breeze through the open door
A sleepy cat laying on the window sill
On this lazy afternoon, like honey on a silver spoon,
The memory of your smile is with me still
Don't tell me that it's wrong to say
I love you with a song

When the words won't come, I've seen you do it too
This road winds along
One day, we'll be gone
But I'll have this song to bring me close to you
I'll have this song to bring me close to you

A Man's Requirements by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Music:
BERNWARD KOCH - A Shimmer Of Leaves

Richard Johnson Art

A Man's Requirements
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Love me Sweet, with all thou art,
Feeling, thinking, seeing;
Love me in the lightest part,
Love me in full being.

Love me with thine open youth
In its frank surrender;
With the vowing of thy mouth,
With its silence tender.

Love me with thine azure eyes,
Made for earnest grantings;
Taking colour from the skies,
Can Heaven's truth be wanting?

Love me with their lids, that fall
Snow-like at first meeting;
Love me with thine heart, that all
Neighbours then see beating.

Love me with thine hand stretched out
Freely -- open-minded:
Love me with thy loitering foot, --
Hearing one behind it.

Love me with thy voice, that turns
Sudden faint above me;
Love me with thy blush that burns
When I murmur 'Love me!'

Love me with thy thinking soul,
Break it to love-sighing;
Love me with thy thoughts that roll
On through living -- dying.

Love me in thy gorgeous airs,
When the world has crowned thee;
Love me, kneeling at thy prayers,
With the angels round thee.
Love me pure, as muses do,
Up the woodlands shady:
Love me gaily, fast and true,
As a winsome lady.

Through all hopes that keep us brave,
Farther off or nigher,
Love me for the house and grave,
And for something higher.

Thus, if thou wilt prove me, Dear,
Woman's love no fable,
I will love thee -- half a year --
As a man is able.

It’s good to feel you are close to me by Pablo Nerdua

Serge Marshennikov Art

It’s good to feel you are close to me
Pablo Neruda

It’s good to feel you are close to me in the night, love,
invisible in your sleep, intently nocturnal,
while I untangle my worries
as if they were twisted nets.

Withdrawn, your heart sails through dream,
but your body, relinquished so, breathes
seeking me without seeing me perfecting my dream
like a plant that seeds itself in the dark.

Rising, you will be that other, alive in the dawn,
but from the frontiers lost in the night,
from the presence and the absence where we meet ourselves,

something remains, drawing us into the light of life
as if the sign of the shadows had sealed
its secret creatures with flame.

Don't Give Up by Mario Benedetti /With spanish original version :No te rindas ...

Don't Give Up
Mario Benedetti

Don't give up, you still have time
to reach up and start anew,
Accept your shadows,
Bury your fears,
Free your urdens,

Fly again.
Don't give up, that's what life is
Continue the journey,
Follow your dreams,
Unstuck time,
Move the rubble,
And uncover the sky.

Don't give up, please don't give way,
Even if the cold burns,
Even if fear bites,
Even if the sun sets,
And the wind goes silent,
There is still fire in your soul
There is still life in your dreams.

Because life is yours and yours is the desire
Because you have loved it and because I love you
Because wine exists and love is true.
Because there are no wounds that time doesn't cure.

To open the doors,
Take away the locks,
Abandon the walls that have protected you,
To live life and accept the challenge
Get back laughter,
Practice a song,
Lower the guard and extend the hands
Open the wings
And try again,
Celebrate life and take back the skies.

Don't give up, please don't give way,
Even if the cold burns,
Even if fear bites,
Even if the sun sets,
And the wind goes silent,
There is still fire in your soul
There is still life in your dreams.

Because every day is a new beginning,
Because this is the hour and the best moment.
Because you are not alone, because I love you.

No te rindas ...
Mario Benedetti

No te rindas, aún estás a tiempo
De alcanzar y comenzar de nuevo,
Aceptar tus sombras,
Enterrar tus miedos,

Je me sentirais perdu,
J´aurais besoin de toi.

Et si tu n´existais pas,
Dis-moi comment j´existerais?
Je pourrais faire semblant d´être moi,
Mais je ne serais pas vrai.

Et si tu n´existais pas,
Je crois que je l´aurais trouvé,
Le secret de la vie, le pourquoi,
Simplement pour te créer
Et pour te regarder.

English translation
And if you didn't exist

And if you didn't exist
Tell me, why would I exist?
To linger in a world without you
Without hope or regret
And if you didn't exist
I would try to invent love
Like a painter, marvelling at the colours of day
Born under his fingers

And if you didn't exist
Tell me, who should I exist for?
The passers-by asleep in my arms
That I could never love?
And if you didn't exist
I would be but one more dot
In this world that comes and goes
I would feel lost
I would need you

And if you didn't exist
Tell me, how could I exist?
I could pretend to be myself
But I wouldn't be true
And if you didn't exist
I believe I would find
The secret of life, the 'why'
Just to create you
And to look at you

God of the Open Air,love poem, love quotes by Henry Vandyke

Music;
Andre Rieu - Annie's Song

Richard johnson art

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity.
Henry Van Dyke

Who seeks for heaven alone to save his soul,
May keep the path, but will not reach the goal;
While he who walks in love may wander far,
Yet God will bring him where the blessed are.
Henry Van Dyke, The Other Wise Man

Richard Johnson Art

Love
Henry Van Dyke
Let me but love my love without disguise,
Nor wear a mask of fashion old or new,
Nor wait to speak till I can hear a clue,
Nor play a part to shine in others' eyes,

Nor bow my knees to what my heart denies;
But what I am, to that let me be true,
And let me worship where my love is due,
And so through love and worship let me rise.

For love is but the heart's immortal thirst
To be completely known and all forgiven,
Even as sinful souls that enter Heaven:
So take me, dear, and understand my worst,
And freely pardon it, because confessed,
And let me find in loving thee, my best.

Excerpts from:God of the Open Air
Henry Van Dyke

From the prison of anxious thought that greed has builded,
From the fetters that envy has wrought and pride has gilded,
From the noise of the crowded ways and the fierce confusion,
From the folly that wastes its days in a world of illusion,
(Ah, but the life is lost that frets and languishes there!)
I would escape and be free in the joy of the open air.

By the breadth of the blue that shines in silence o'er me,
By the length of the mountain-lines that stretch before me,
By the height of the cloud that sails, with rest in motion,
Over the plains and the vales to the measureless ocean,
(Oh, how the sight of the things that are
great enlarges the eyes!)
Lead me out of the narrow life, to the peace of the hills
and the skies.

While the tremulous leafy haze on the woodland is spreading,
And the bloom on the meadow betrays where
May has been treading;
While the birds on the branches above, and
the brooks flowing under,
Are singing together of love in a world full of wonder,
(Lo, in the marvel of Springtime, dreams are changed into truth!)
Quicken my heart, and restore the beautiful hopes of youth.

By the faith that the flowers show when they bloom unbidden,
By the calm of the river's flow to a goal that is hidden,
By the trust of the tree that clings to its deep foundation,
By the courage of wild birds' wings on the long migration,
(Wonderful secret of peace that abides in Nature's breast!)
Teach me how to confide, and live my life, and rest.

For the comforting warmth of the sun that my body embraces,
For the cool of the waters that run through the shadowy places,
For the balm of the breezes that brush my face with their fingers,
For the vesper-hymn of the thrush when the twilight lingers,
For the long breath, the deep breath, the breath
of a heart without care,--
I will give thanks and adore thee, God of the open air!

Mark Masri - Time lyrics

Time lyrics
Mark Masri

If all the world’s a stage
and life is but a page
how do we make it last
the moments fly so fast
It's not for us to know
how long until we go
but while here on this earth
we must learn what time is worth

Time is too slow
for those who wait
time is too swift for those who fear
time is too long
for those who grieve
but for those who love
for those who are loved
time is eternity
for those who are loved
like you love me

And so the story goes
a tale of joy and woe
it's up to us to find
the reason and the rhyme

Time is on our side
like the ocean wide
a never ending wave upon
a never ending shore
and where your heart ends
or where mine begins
doesn't really matter anymore
Time is too long
for those who grieve
but for those who love
for those who are loved
time is eternity
for those who are loved
like you love me
